Love God: We Give God Our All
“Anyone who belongs to Christ is a new person. The past is forgotten, and everything is new.” (2 Cor. 5:17) God wants to set us free to live a new life in relationship with Him. This new life is made possible through Christ. In Christ, we have the ability to be rescued from the bondage of our old self, our old habits, our mistakes and a live a transformed life of purpose and peace in God. To do this we must turn from our sin, put our trust and faith in Christ as our savior, and commit to follow Him as our Lord. The Bible says that, “God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” (Rom. 5:8) Because of God’s great love for us and because He has rescued us from our sins, we strive to Love God with all our hearts and to live for Him in all we do.

- Follow Jesus through Baptism (Be Baptized Link): We believe Baptism is an important first step in following Christ. Here is some common questions about Baptism:
What about being baptized twice?
Our church recommends that you be baptized again if you have not been baptized by immersion since you became a believer. It doesn't devalue a prior experience but simply reflects your desire to be baptized in the same way Jesus was baptized. Every minister at Common Ground has been baptized by immersion as Jesus demonstrated and commanded us to follow.
Can my family be baptized together?
Yes! If each family member understands fully the meaning of baptism, and each one has personally placed his/her trust in Christ for salvation, we encourage families to be baptized at the same time. It is a wonderful expression of commitment.
Will I have to say anything?
Pastor David or whomever is baptizing will probably ask you if you have made a decision to follow Christ. You won’t have to give any big speeches.
What should I wear?
You should wear whatever you would be comfortable in getting wet. We suggest dark clothing and some wear swim suits under their clothing.
What should I bring with me?
Bring a change of clothes and a plastic bag for your wet clothes. Restrooms are close by for changing.
